The Montreal Canadiens head into Game 2 of the North Division Finals with a chance to go up 2-0 in the series on the Winnipeg Jets. In fact, the series could be over as early as early as Monday if the Habs continue to win. There might be just one business day left between now and Montreal advancing to the NHL’s postseason Final Four. Yet, they still have no idea whether or not they will be playing any home games beyond that point.
Reporting for Sportsnet late Thursday night, David Morassutti relays word from deputy commissioner Bill Daly that the league and the Canadian government still do not have any agreement on an exception to current border policies. With Canada behind the United States in coronavirus vaccinations, the country and each of the provinces still have strict border restrictions and tight health regulations. Glenn Duane Filipi died of complications of Parkinson’s disease on May 30, 2021 at Bethany on University. He was born on February 15, 1937 in Warren, MN to Gerda Vera Kulle Filipi and Daniel Henry Filipi. He grew up on the family farm near Angus, MN and attended a one room schoolhouse for eight years before transferring to Crookston AC. He was selected most valuable player in basketball and was captain of the football team as well as belonging to the National Honor Society.
Glenn graduated in 1955 and enlisted in the Marine Corps. He was trained as a jet mechanic and served several overseas tours of duty before being honorably discharged with the rank of Sergeant in 1958. He graduated from the University of North Dakota in 1962 with a BS degree in Education. He was a member of Kappa Sigma Fraternity.
Bryand Rincher - Wilma Rudolph Award Winner TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (seminoles.com) – Bryand Rincher, who helped lead the Florida State Men’s Track and Field Team to the 2021 ACC Outdoor Championship, has been selected as one of six recipients of the 2021 Wilma Rudolph Student-Athlete Achievement Award, by the National Association of Academic and Student-Athlete Development Professionals. The award honors student-athletes who have overcome great personal, academic and/or emotional odds to achieve academic success while participating in athletics. Rincher will accompany the Seminoles to the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championship meet in Eugene, Oregon (June 9-12) as an alternate member of the Seminoles’ 4X100 meter relay team. Just after the conclusion of his freshman year in July 2019, Rincher was involved in a grease fire that left much of his body with severe burns and forced him to spend several months in a hospital.
