ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. After a historic 2020-21 season by The University of New Mexico women’s soccer team, head coach Heather Dyche and the Lobos have announced their upcoming 2021 schedule.
The fall slate features a total of 18 regular season matches and an additional two exhibition matchups. The Lobos will host nine home games in total.
The first two home matches for the Lobos will be exhibition games on August 16 versus Fort Lewis College and August 26 versus Adams State University.
Between the two exhibition games, the Lobos will take on UC Davis on August 19 and Dixie State on August 22 to kick off the regular season. Both matches will be played in Las Vegas, Nev.

The 6-foot-3 and 285-pound offensive lineman from Kennedy Catholic High School in Burien, Washington, took an unofficial visit to the University of Washington on Saturday and he came away with a scholarship offer.
Banuelos, a Class of 2023 prospect and a 3-star recruit, plays offensive tackle for Kennedy Catholic, but he could handle any number of O-line positions on the college level.
The Huskies represent his third collegiate offer so far; previously, he received scholarship proposals from Texas A&M and Nevada.
The SEC school, similar to the UW, has its own Huard connection, only this one is on the coaching staff.

The University of Washington on Thursday announced it will require all employees to be vaccinated against COVID-19 by autumn quarter. The UW recently announced that all students must also be vaccinated before fall classes begin.
This requirement follows the release of new workplace masking and distancing requirements from the Washington Department of Labor & Industries. Vaccinations are provided free of charge to individuals at UW Medicine including at the UW Medical Center – Montlake on the Seattle campus as well as at clinics, pharmacies and many other locations in Seattle and in Pierce and Snohomish counties.

Global excess deaths during the pandemic range from 7 to 13 million lives lost according to new estimate
Last week, the
Economist published a special report, a modeling study looking at excess deaths attributable to the COVID-19 pandemic globally. As of May 2021, they concluded, there have been 7.1 to 12.7 million excess deaths worldwide. Their central estimate places the toll at 10.2 million people three times the official figures who would have otherwise been living today, had the world’s governments responded in earnest to the threat posed by the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus.
