MALONE â Franklin County Public Health has had an uptick in resident calls regarding Pfizer s COVID-19 vaccine and its shipments to the North Country, but said Wednesday afternoon that it did not know exactly when or how many doses were going to Franklin County. The exact number of doses and the exact timing is being communicated directly to the people who need to know that information, not necessarily to everyone in the general public,  Program Coordinator Erin Streiff told the Press-Republican Wednesday, adding that hospitals and nursing homes would receive the vaccine first.Â

Wednesday brought more bad and good news as the US endures the 10th month of the coronavirus pandemic.
There was a trio of all-time highs in the data. A record number of new deaths more than 3,500 was reported Wednesday and there were more than 240,000 newly reported coronavirus cases. And the number of people in hospitals was at a high for the 11th day in a row.
