Police appeal to locate missing Daniel Astin who has not been seen for four weeks

POLICE are appealing for information after a student was reported as missing from Huddersfield, having not been seen at his university or accommodation for around four weeks. Kirklees District CID would like to speak to anyone who has seen or has information about Daniel Astin, who is 31. Mr Astin is from Burnley, but is studying at the University of Huddersfield. Officers are concerned for his welfare, and say he was reported as missing on Friday. He is described as white, around 5ft 10ins tall, heavily built and with facial hair and a shaved head. A/DI Simon Reddington, of Kirklees CID, said: “We do have growing concerns for Daniel’s welfare and have been carrying out a number of enquiries in Huddersfield and in Burnley to locate him.

The vaccine hesitancy study carried out by the University of Huddersfield, in collaboration with NUI Galway, Ireland, canvassed the views of 1,000 people online in the UK and Ireland, recording their attitudes and intentions in relation to Covid-19 vaccination programmes. To date, there have been almost 250,000 confirmed cases of Covid-19 in Ireland while more than 1 million people have had a first dose of a Covid-19 vaccine. In the UK there have been more than 4.4 million confirmed cases of Covid-19 and more than 34 million people have had a first dose of a Covid-19 vaccine.
