Radio personality Teresa Berry says goodbye
Longtime radio host Teresa Berry has left Full Power Radio’s morning show on Soft Rock 106.5 WBMW, based in Ledyard.
In a press release, she declared herself a “free agent” after being a major voice in local radio for more than 20 years. Her last day was Jan. 15.
“She continues to do voice work for stations around the country,” according to the release, which compared her change of venue with that of Tom Brady, who won a Super Bowl last month in Tampa after leaving the New England Patriots.
Rev. Naomi Tutu to speak virtually at CSU on March 24 22 Mar, 2021
Rev. Nontombi Naomi Tutu, race and gender justice activist as well as the daughter of Archbishop Desmond Tutu, will speak virtually at Colorado State University on March 24 at 3 p.m. Mountain Time.
The talk is presented as part of the Global Engagement Distinguished Speaker Lecture series by CSU’s Office of International Programs and sponsored by First National Bank of Omaha. The Zoom event will be free and open to the public, but registration is required.
Rev. Tutu uses the challenges she faced growing up Black and female in apartheid South Africa to inspire her activism for human rights. Her experiences taught her that, as she explains, “our whole human family loses when we accept situations of oppression, and how the teaching and preaching hate and division injure us all.”
Full interview with JR SPECS and Rita Plante
I had the pleasure of sitting down with University of Connecticut senior and hip-hop musician Josh Redmond to talk about his brand new release “GETCHA GEEKED.” Redmond has been releasing self-produced and self-recorded musical projects under the name JR SPECS for over five years. The new single, “GETCHA GEEKED,” is his last release as a student and comes as a follow up to his summer 2020 album “99 DAYDREAM.” In his final year of school at UConn, JR has set his expectations high as he is looking to pursue music full time after graduation.
