University Lectures Kicks Off Spring 2021 Series, Featuring Four Dynamic Guests, on Feb 16

Share The University Lectures continues its 20th season this spring with four dynamic speakers: Viet Thanh Nguyen, Pulitzer Prize-winning author, on Tuesday, Feb. 16; Misty Copeland, principal dancer with the American Ballet Theater, on Tuesday, Feb. 23; Stephanie Johnson-Cunningham, agent for arts and culture, on Wednesday, March 17; and Nyle DiMarco, deaf activist and winner of “Dancing with the Stars” and “America’s Next Top Model,” on Tuesday, March 23. The University’s premier speaker series, the University Lectures brings to Syracuse University audience members and the larger public notable guest speakers of exceptional accomplishment who share their diverse global experiences and perspectives. UHart launches undergrad aerospace engineering program

The University of Hartford announced it will launch an aerospace engineering program for undergraduate students. UHart s College of Engineering, Technology and Architecture will start offering the course in the fall, 2021 semester, according to the university. It will include hands-on instruction on new technologies, and building relationships with people in the aerospace manufacturing field. The new program is launching at a time when the field of aerospace engineering is growing, UHart said in a statement announcing the program. The Bureau of Labor Statistics projects this industry to see 3% job growth nationally and 7.3% job growth locally in Connecticut over a 10-year period.

Featuring four of the composer s orchestral works, this portrait album concerns Carl s life-long fascination: time and space-concrete, geographical, and metaphorical. He is the co-author of the book “Enemies Within.” A graduate of Colby College in Waterville, he joined The New York Times in 2014 after 11 years with The Associated Press.
