Hyderabad, May 3 : A biotech startup company, incubated at the ASPIRE-Technology Business Incubator (ASPIRE-TBI), University of Hyderabad (UoH), on Monday announced a human umbilical cord (UC) tissue harvested and clinically processed adult Mesenchymal Stem Cells (MSCs) based therapy for Covid patients.
Transcell Oncologics has developed a proprietary cell-based platform technology, HEMATO UC-MSCs, with anti-cytokine storm properties, anti-inflammatory attributes and repairing abilities.
The treatment is associated with a significant decrease in a set of inflammatory cytokines involved in the Covid-19 cytokine storm , with significantly improved patient survival and time to recovery.

Hyderabad, April 30 : A startup incubated at the University of Hyderabad (UoH) has developed a unique technology to extract DNA from any kind of biological sample human, animal, plant or microbes - within five seconds, without the use of any equipment.
The product has potential applications in extraction of RNA from Covid samples.
A note issued by UoH on Friday stated that 30M Genomics, a startup incubated at ASPIRE-BioNEST at the UoH and working in the field of point-of-care genetic diagnostics, has developed a unique technology which utilises a very minimal quantity of samples and is a perfect fit for any point-of-care DNA-based applications.

World University Rankings: UoH bags spot in list of top institutions

Hyderabad: University of Hyderabad (UoH) bagged a spot in the list of top institutions across the world. The list was released by Round University Rankings (RUR) agency, a Russian agency.
According to a report published in The Hindu, 13 Indian institutions figured in the list and UoH is one among them.
