The Lehigh Valley's major blood donation agencies, the Miller-Keystone Blood Center and American Red Cross, are on red alert as blood supplies have dipped to alarming lows. At Miller-Keystone, the blood type most in demand by hospitals, O negative, is nearly depleted. So is B negative.

Easing restrictions would keep people on track
I was very disappointed to hear we are in for another four weeks of virtual lockdown in our province. At a minimum, we should give our kids the chance to play. The longer this goes on, the less likely people will follow the rules. Lighten them up at least a bit and most will follow sensible things like wearing a mask and social distancing.
I realize a good part of our problem is the lack of vaccines and of course this is a federal, not a provincial, problem. I truly cannot understand just how incapable our federal government is. Mr. Trudeau will surely go down as the worst prime minister in the history of Canada. The only thing he seems good at is handing out cheques.
