Nothing on this earth can ever stop a person who has the determination to succeed. Matilda Awiah Wedadibam, popularly called Sister Mattie, is one such female personification of determination.
One will struggle to get an appropriate word to describe her. She defied all odds, persevered, struggled and made her long-cherished dream come true.
Today she is a living testimony to the numerous mothers out there, whether single or not, to always aspire higher no matter their situation.
Matilda is from Navrongo and was married to Francis Kojo Azuimah (Deceased) from the Builsa District and has three children.
COVID-19 disinfections: All heads of educational institutions should kindly cooperate with the disinfection team LISTEN

The Northern Regional General Manager of Zoomlion Ghana Limited has appealed to heads of educational institutions in the Northern Region to cooperate with his outfit to ensure a successful disinfection exercise.
According to Mr Peter Awuni, the lack of cooperation by some of the heads of the schools was not helping in the smooth execution of their operations.
“I want to appeal to the heads of the basic, senior high schools and tertiary institutions to be available to aid in our work, especially when there are documents to be signed and more importantly the classrooms, lecture halls and offices needed to be opened for disinfection,” he appealed.

To ensure the lives of learners in Basic, Senior High Schools, Technical and Vocational schools as well Universities in the country are safer for reopening of schools, the Ministry of Education and Ministry of Sanitation, Water and Nature Resources in partnership with Ghana Zoomlion Ghana Limited have commenced the fourth phase of disinfection exercise of schools in Tamale, capital of the Northern region.
The nationwide exercise which began yesterday in the country capital (Accra) and some regions is to ensure, schools are disinfected and fumigated against the pandemic, COVID-19 as they reopen on 9th January 2021 as orchestrated by the President, His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo during his 21st Nation’s Address updates on Coronavirus .
Slaying and drinking around does not win elections - Lecturer shades Abayage
Former Parliamentary Aspirant of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for the Nabdam Constituency and a Lecturer at the University for Development Studies(UDS), Dr Vida Yakong has ridiculed her colleague Tangoba Abayage for losing woefully in the just ended general election.
According to her, Tangoba Abayage does not have what it takes to win an election that is devoid of vote buying stating that winning an election is not indeed about slaying and drinking around
Vida Yakong who was reacting in a similar vein like Abayage did to her loss in the 2019 NDC Primaries said “to the lioness who has set a record for distribution of goodies and money to buy delegates in the Navrongo Central Constituency to win primaries, I thought she learned how to ‘crawl before walking. These were your own words a few months ago to a colleague woman who lost primaries”.

Dr Godfred Seidu Jasaw, a Senior Lecturer at the Wa campus of the University for Development Studies (UDS), has won the Wa East Parliamentary seat on the ticket of the NDC.
Dr Jasaw defeated Mr Salifu Yakubu, the incumbent NPP MP with 21,428 votes as against 14,246 votes.
The total voter population at the Constituency stands at 43,536, out of which, 36,524 participated in the polls and total valid votes were 35,674 with whopping 850 rejected ballots.
Mr Jasaw, in his victory remarks commended the people for conducting themselves peacefully throughout to the declaration and assured that he would serve the people to justify the confidence reposed in him.
