Campus Closing Information: Procedures
When the decision is made to close the campus in part or whole due to inclement weather or utility/operational outages, various procedures are used to notify the campus community. The most common types of inclement weather closings are:
Day and evening closing: Prior to the start of a day (8 a.m.), a decision will be made to close the campus. This decision normally will be made no later than 4 a.m. the day in question with communications occurring prior to 6 a.m.
Immediate or evening closing: During the day, a decision is made to close the campus either immediately or at a determined time. Evening closure decisions will normally be made no later than 2 p.m. the day in question with communications occurring prior to 3 p.m.
