A presidential selection committee is officially launching a national search this month.
It comes after thousands of Penn State alumni, faculty, students and others were surveyed on what characteristics they think are important for a University President.
More on that leadership profile, along with nomination information is now posted on the Penn State Board of Trustees website.

Search for a New PSU President
Current University President Eric Barron is planning on retiring next Summer.
A search committee has been named.
But the initial step was to gather input from the Penn State community and others on their priorities for candidates
“The survey was e-mailed to 157 thousand faculty and staff and 430 thousand alumni for a total email distribution of 590 thousand. Over 15 thousand responses have been received and over
300 individuals have submitted comments on the Nextgen website”
The survey results are being compiled.
It’s expected they’ll go to the Penn State Presidential search committee within a month.

Energy Days to be held virtually on May 19 and 20

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. Energy Days, an annual conference that brings together professionals working in all areas of energy, will be held on May 19 and 20. This year’s event will be virtual, and it is free and open to the public. Registration is now open.
Startups are not required to have a Penn State affiliation to apply.
The VIP Conference is one of the largest tech startup conferences in the Mid-Atlantic and draws more than 600 attendees, including 70-plus startup ventures and 40-plus investment firms from across the country. The conference highlights innovations from high growth and emerging markets such as Information Technology, FinTech, EdTech, Energy, Advanced Manufacturing, Biotechnology, Healthcare, Business to Business, and Business to Consumer, among others.
In addition to Venture Connection, attendees can look forward to several Penn State innovator competitions and showcases. The Student Startup Showcase kicks off each conference. Hosted by University President Eric Barron, the event features one-minute pitches from Penn State’s top student entrepreneurs.
