Health Alert – U.S. Embassy Bangkok, Thailand (May 25, 2021) Location:  Thailand Event:  Vaccine Registration for Foreign Nationals Opens June 7 The Center for COVID-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) announced on May 21 that registration for the Royal Thai Government’s (RTG) mass vaccination campaign, which includes foreign nationals, will begin June 7, 2021.  Vaccinations given through this campaign are free and U.S. citizens may not have a choice regarding the brand of the vaccine they receive.  The RTG has approved the following vaccines for use in Thailand:  AstraZeneca, Moderna, and Johnson & Johnson and Sinovac Biotech.  Currently, the RTG only has AstraZeneca and Sinovac Biotech available for use and is working to import the other approved vaccines.

Belarusian State University, Tsinghua University sign memorandum of understanding MINSK, 14 May (BelTA) – Belarusian State University (BSU) and China s Tsinghua University have signed a memorandum of understanding. The document was signed by rectors Andrei Korol and Qiu Yong. The signing ceremony was held online, BelTA learned from the press service of the university. The signing of the document was preceded by two years of interaction between the universities to identify key partnership areas. For this purpose, in 2019 mutual visits were paid to the universities to assess the scientific and educational activities of the institutions. In April 2021 rector Andrei Korol took part in the Global Forum of University Presidents 2021 (GFUP 2021) themed Innovate for the Future: Vision and New Mission of Universities, timed to mark the 110th anniversary of Tsinghua University.

During the Global Forum of University Presidents (GFUP 2021) on Saturday, the eve of the 110th anniversary of Tsinghua University, Qiu Yong, president of the university, said in his speech that more open, integrative and resilient universities would promote inclusive environments to address the challenges of the new era, break through physical boundaries, disciplinary barriers and technological limitations.

Global Forum of University Presidents unites heads of over 110 universities MINSK, 23 April (BelTA) – Rector of Belarusian State University Andrei Korol is taking part in the Global Forum of University Presidents 2021 (GFUP 2021) themed Innovate for the Future: Vision and New Mission of Universities. The large-scale event kicked off on 19 April in the online and offline format and is marking the 110th anniversary of Tsinghua University (China), BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian university. The main focus of the forum is to discuss the features and prospects for the development of universities in the 21st century and to study their potential. The event has brought together the heads of more than 110 universities from Belarus, Belgium, the UK, Israel, India, Italy, China, the Netherlands, Portugal, Russia, Singapore, the USA, Sweden and other countries.
