Thanks Captain Tom! Money raised by 100-year-old put to use in Teesside

By Rachel Conner-Hill echorachelc Chief Reporter (Tees Valley & North Yorkshire) Trust chief executive Julie Gillon and chair of governors Paul Garvin relax in the University Hospital of North Tees Rainbow Room HOSPITAL staff have thanked Captain Tom for providing the funds to create spaces for staff to have a break during their shifts. North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust was given £100,000 from NHS Charities Grants, part of which was raised during the 100-year-old retired soldier s epic 2020 fundraising garden walk. The funds have been used to convert rooms – which will be known as the Rainbow Room – at both the University Hospital of North Tees and University Hospital of Hartlepool into staff recharge hub where colleagues can take a well-earned rest during their busy shifts.
