Eliameau Maxime, 32, of Orange and a 23-year-old were shot on Union Avenue, the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office said Monday. Maxime was brought to University Hospital in Newark where he was pronounced dead at 5:10 a.m.. The other man survived his injuries. The shooting took place outside, a spokeswoman said. Hours earlier, a 43-year-old man was shot and killed at Mildred Helms Park off the 500 block of Clinton Avenue in Newark, officials said. Maurice Hudson was pronounced dead shortly after 8 p.m. Friday at University Hospital. The shooting was not random, the prosecutor’s office said.
