The toughest Covid-19 restrictions will remain in place
Coventry and Warwickshire will remain under the toughest Covid-19 restrictions it has been announced.
The Government s Tier Review leaves both areas under Tier-3. Infections had been falling until recent days when a rise has been recorded again.
Today s Tier review is the first one by the government since the new measures were enforced on the day England s second national lockdown was lifted on Wednesday December 2.
It was then that, for the first time, Coventry, Warwickshire and Solihuill were placed together as a sub-region and were put into Tier 3.

A DESPERATE woman is appealing for help to save her husband s life after he was hit by a terminal brain tumour. Terra Newman has made the plea after her husband Ade, who celebrated his 49th birthday on Monday, was given the devastating news last month that the NHS could do nothing more to save him, just three months after the discovery of the cancerous tumour in his brain. As Ade is now unable to speak or walk, Terra has, with the help of friends, launched a bid to raise money to fund specialist treatment, in a last bid to save his life.
