Man dies following a single vehicle crash in Galway Published: Monday, 26 April 2021 11:10
Gardaí are currently at the scene of a fatal road traffic collision that occurred in Carna, Co. Galway, this morning.
A car collided with a wall in Carna village at approximately 7am.
The driver of the car, a man aged in his 30s, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Coroner was notified and his body was taken to the mortuary at University Hospital Galway where a post-mortem will take place in due course.
The scene is currently preserved for Garda Forensic Collision Investigators.
The road through Carna village is currently closed and local diversions are in place.

A man in his 30s has died after the car he was driving hit a wall in Co Galway.
Gardaí are currently at the scene of the incident in Carna, which happened on Monday morning at 7am.
The driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene. The coroner was notified and the man’s body was taken to the mortuary at University Hospital Galway where a postmortem will take place.
