BP Marsh & Partners PLC - London-based private equity investor in financial services businesses - Investee Nexus Underwriting Management Ltd, a specialty managing general agent, completed the acquisition of the Hiscox MGA Marine business from Hiscox Ltd. This expert team provides yacht and marine trades insurance and will become an integral part of Millstream Underwriting Ltd, a Nexus Group company which specialises in consumer insurance, BP Marsh adds.

Photo by SWNS THE first person to be treated at Birmingham s mass vaccination super hub was 46-year-old hospital worker from Redditch Selina Wilson. The occupational therapist received her first dose of the AstraZeneca Oxford vaccine just after midday on Monday (January 11) at the city s Millennium Point. The multi-use meeting and conference venue, which includes the Thinktank Science Museum, has been converted into one of seven UK mass injection centres.

West Midlands CA mayor Andy Street (Con) has fallen out with Birmingham City Council s leader Ian Ward over alleged hiccups in the vaccine rollout in Birmingham.
The disagreement has emerged as Greater Manchester CA mayor Andy Burnham (Lab) has offered to bring England s mayors together to fix problems emerging in the vaccine rollout.
Cllr Ward (Lab) sent a letter yesterday to health secretary Matt Hancock in which claimed he had “learned today that Birmingham has not yet been supplied with any AstraZeneca stock, while current Pfizer stocks are scheduled to run out on Friday this week with currently no clarity on when further supplies will arrive”.

A host of personnel across the armed forces have been recognised, including those who showed exemplary dedication during the Coronavirus pandemic. From providing essential workers with greater access to Covid-19 tests, to nursing care and providing logistical support across the four corners of the UK, the honours list praises the exceptional leadership, commitment and professionalism across the military this year.
The recognition follows a thank you from the Prime Minister last week who praised the Armed Forces for coming to the aid of the whole nation in the battle against the pandemic. He also praised their ongoing work across the globe to keep Britain safe during the festive season.
