THERE have been 17 new coronavirus deaths recorded in Dorset hospitals, latest figures show. The figures include the first coronavirus deaths in five days to have been recorded at Dorset County Hospital Trust. NHS England figures show 81 people had died in hospital at Dorset County Hospital NHS Foundation Trust as of 5pm on Tuesday (February 2). That was an increase of five compared to the 76 that had been recorded at the same point on Monday, and the first deaths in five days. A further five new coronavirus deaths have also been recorded at another Dorset Trust in the latest 24-hour period. NHS England figures show 60 people had died in hospital at Dorset Healthcare University NHS Foundation Trust as of 5pm on Tuesday (February 2).

MORE than 350 people were admitted to Dorset hospitals with Covid-19 in the space of a week, latest figures show. Data released by NHS England shows, between January 18 and January 24, 351 people were admitted to hospital with the virus. University Hospitals Dorset Trust admitted 281 people, including 51 on January 20 and 44 on January 24. At the Dorset County Hospital, 55 people were admitted, including 14 on January 22. Fifteen people were admitted to the Dorset Healthcare Trust with Covid-19, including seven on January 18. And on January 26, there were 537 patients occupying hospital beds with Covid-19 in Dorset. UHD had 378 patients, including 24 needing mechanical ventilation. The Dorset County Hospital had 80 Covid-19 patients, with seven on mechanical ventilation, and 79 people were at the Dorset Healthcare Trust with the virus, none on mechanical ventilation.
FORTY-FIVE more people have died with coronavirus in Dorset hospitals, latest figures show. The new figure includes deaths which were not recorded in previous days due to a lag. Data released by NHS England shows 34 more people died at the University Hospitals Dorset Trust, taking the trust’s total since the start of the pandemic to 449. The newly recorded deaths came on January 26, when two people died, ten people died on January 25, 13 died on January 24, five died on January 23 and three died on January 22. Six more deaths were also recorded at the Dorset County Hospital, taking the hospital’s total to 69.
