Boise State University has named John Buckwalter as provost and vice president for academic affairs.
Buckwalter joins Boise State after serving as the Betty L. Tointon endowed dean of the College of Health and Human Sciences at Kansas State University, as well as a professor in the Department of Kinesiology.
“John Buckwalter is an innovative, strong, and compassionate leader who received positive support from Deans, our Faculty Senate, and a wide range of campus constituents. People who have worked closely with him throughout his career have admired his ability to make extraordinary things happen all while caring deeply for each of the people that those projects touched, from faculty to staff to students. He has the courage to step into and address difficulties, as well as the creativity to find meaningful pathways through challenges. The East Carolina University Board of Trustees welcomed ECU Chancellor Dr. Philip Rogers to his first meeting of the full board and its committees Thursday and Friday.
I want to say publicly that I m grateful to this board in particular for your overwhelming support during this transition and for your unwavering commitment to East Carolina University, Rogers said during his remarks to the board.
ASWSU hosted a town hall Thursday for Sexual Assault Awareness Month, educating individuals on how to file assault reports and what the process looks like.
Resource centers on campus, like the WSU Office of Compliance and Civil Rights, help students file sexual assault complaints and reports. The process can be daunting, and having a step-by-step walkthrough about how to file reports is helpful, said Joel Aleman, director of University Affairs.
“It’s one of those things where students are often very nervous about not knowing what to expect,” he said.
It is easy to file different reports through CCR’s website, whether that be a document of concern or an informal or formal report, CCR assistant director Daniel Records said.
