SOFIA (Bulgaria), May 10 (SeeNews) - Bulgarian Telecommunications Company (BTC), which operates under the brand name Vivacom, said on Monday that it agreed to acquire 100% interest in local cable operator Networx-Bulgaria. The deal is subject to approval by the respective regulatory authorities and is expected to be completed in the second quarter of 2021, BTC said in a statement. With the new acquisition, BTC will combine its experience with the well-developed network of Networx-Bulgaria, to provide access to new technologies for even more users, the telecommunications company said. The value of the deal was not disclosed.

SOFIA (Bulgaria), April 29 (SeeNews) - Bulgarian Telecommunications Company (BTC), operating under the Vivacom brand, said on Thursday that it completed the acquisition of 100% shareholding interest in local internet providers Net1 and ComNet Sofia, as well as in cable operator N3. The acquisitions are part of the company s strategy to expand its fixed services coverage, BTC said in an e-mailed statement. Net1, ComNet Sofia and N3, which have developed until now mainly as regional fixed services operators, have well-developed infrastructure and knowledge of the market at a regional level which will help BTC strengthen its leading position on the Bulgarian market, the company said.

SOFIA (Bulgaria), April 28 (SeeNews) - Telecommunications company A1 Bulgaria, a unit of A1 Telekom Austria Group, said on Wednesday that its earnings before interest and taxes, amortisation and depreciation (EBITDA) grew by 21.2% year-on-year to 55.6 million euro ($67.1 million). A1 Bulgaria s revenue rose by an annual 3.6% to 132.2 million euro, as services revenue increased 7.3% to 105.9 million euro, the company said in a statement. Revenue from mobile services added 6.2% to 70.7 million euro, while fixed-line service revenue grew 9.4% to 35.1 million euro. Device sales dropped 10.6% to 25.1 million euro. Average revenue per user increased by 8.5% to 6.3 euro.

SOFIA (Bulgaria), April 23 (SeeNews) - Telecommunications company Telenor Bulgaria, part of Dutch-registered PPF Group, said on Friday that it has scheduled the commercial nationwide launch of its 5G service for June 10. By the summer the 5G network will cover the major cities in Bulgaria, as well as the main seaside resorts, Telenor Bulgaria said in a statement adding that it will continue to widen its coverage and add new locations. Telenor’s goal is to become a market leader in terms of 5G coverage and network experience by the middle of 2022, according to the statement.
