Polar Plunge raises $22,000 for Highland Lakes Crisis Network

Staff photo by David Bean Marble Falls business owner Todd Fox set a $10,000 mark for donations to the Highland Lakes Crisis Network for him to participate in the Polar Plunge and jump into Lake Marble Falls. He reflected on that decision a bit after donors reached the goal. “I wish they would have said $15,000,” he said with a laugh. Even then, Fox would have taken the plunge Friday, Feb. 19, at Lakeside Park as the final tally was more than $22,000 and over 30 jumpers.

Staff photo by Jennifer Fierro The Marble Falls High School baseball team is inviting boys and girls ages 12 and younger to participate in its Mustang Buddies club, which teams a varsity player with a youngster for support and encouragement. Players will send positive, uplifting postcards to their buddies, who will be introduced with the players before the start of home games. Buddies will also run the bases and play catch after the games.

Marble Falls High School senior makes Texas All-State Men’s Choir Marble Falls High School senior Sean Durham made the Texas All-State Men’s Choir after a rigorous and competitive audition process. Courtesy photo Marble Falls High School senior Sean Durham has advanced to the Texas All-State Men’s Choir in the tenor-bass choir category.  The choir is an extension of the Texas Music Educators Association and is one of the most prestigious there is, according to Marble Falls High School choir director Bryce Gage. “It is super competitive,” Gage said. “It’s easy to say that it’s probably the number one all-state choir in the country. It is so competitive.”
