A Yucca Valley man was arrested after he drove in the wrong lane of traffic on the highway. About 7:30 p.m. on December 29, a deputy saw a vehicle run a stop sign and turn westbound onto Highway 62. The vehicle, driven by John Undernehr, 45, yielded briefly at Richard Drive, but then fled, continuing westbound on the highway. The deputy said Undernehr, while still driving westbound, entered the eastbound lanes of the highway, causing several vehicles to swerve to avoid a collision with him. Undernehr ran multiple red lights and nearly collided with vehicles who had the right of way. Undernehr drove for about three miles before he finally stopped. John Undernehr was arrested for investigation of felony failure to yield and was booked into the West Valley Detention Center with his bail set at $100,000.
