PACOIMA, TEXAS: A man wanted for shooting and killing his ex-girlfriend in front of their 3-year-old daughter took his own life while being chased by police, according to authorities.
46-year-old Herbert Nixon Flores shot himself as cops were approaching him, the Irving Police Department said in a statement. The police were helping in an investigation headed by the FBIâs Fugitive Task Force from LA at the time of the incident.
Authorities had info that the man was visiting family in Irving and that police managed to locate him near Arlington.
âWhile officers were monitoring the location, Flores was seen getting inside a vehicle and began traveling towards Dallas,â a press release said
Ruiz could be seen in the video yelling and running towards a house, pleading for help. Flores eventually caught up to Ruiz and allegedly fired multiple fatal shots at her.
A woman then answered the door and yelled out in Spanish, “He killed her, he killed her!” while a child could be heard crying in the background.
Police say the child is in the custody of family members and is safe.
KTLA reported that Ruiz and Florez had a violent relationship.
“The relationship was violent,” said LAPD Detective Sharon Kim. ”She had several reports made against him over the years, and most recently, she took out a restraining order against him due to some violent acts he committed against her.”
Authorities Seek Public’s Help In Identifying Suspects In Deadly Reseda Shooting Syndicated Local – CBS Los Angeles
RESEDA (CBSLA) Authorities on Sunday asked for the public’s help in identifying possible suspects in connection with the shooting death of a man inside a trailer in Reseda.
Officers with the LAPD responded to a radio call Thursday evening in regard to a deceased male in the 18800 block of Strathern Street.
When they arrived, they located the man who had been shot multiple times. He was 30 years old, and had died.
The man has not yet been identified. Neighbors say he had been living in the trailer for a year or so.
