The two senior officers who share the top role at Amber Valley BC have dramatically resigned.
Sylvia Delahay, executive director for resources, and Julian Townsend, executive director of operations, handed in their notice and are due to leave in September.
Both are shown in the council’s pay policy as being on a band of £83,242 to £88,985 a year. The head of paid service and deputy head roles alternate between them annually.
A council spokesmen said: “Amber Valley Borough Council’s two executive directors have submitted their notice to retire from the council at the end of September.
“We are not saying anything more just at the moment but no arrangements have, as yet, been made to replace them.”
