Richard Paul Mellor, age 39 of Woods Cross, was charged in late November with a class-A misdemeanor stalking charge. The incident occurred on Sept. 26, according to court documents filed by the Bountiful City prosecutor s office. Mellor was a social studies teacher at Eastmont Middle School in Sandy, but he resigned on Nov. 12, a Canyons School District spokesperson told FOX 13. According to court records, a pre-trial protective order was signed Tuesday. It prohibits Mellor from attempting, committing or threatening to commit domestic violence or abuse against the protected person or anyone in their family or household. Stalking charge filed against former Utah middle school teacher A former Utah middle school teacher was charged with stalking last month.  The misdemeanor charge was filed in the Second District Court against 39-year-old Richard Paul Mellor, according to court documents.  Jeff Haney with Canyons School District confirmed to 2News that Mellor used to be an employee with the district and recently resigned.  Mellor reportedly taught social studies at Eastmont Middle School in Sandy prior to the allegations.  According to court documents, the offense occurred on Sept. 26 near 2566 S. 500 West in Bountiful.
