A day after the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) cancelled the Class 10 exams and postponed the Class 12 exams due to COVID-19, Union Minister of State for Social Justice Ramdas Athawale has called for the cancellation of the Maharashtra Board s Class 10 and Class 12 exams and promote the students.
Athawale also welcomed the decision of the CBSE Board to cancel the Class 10 examination.

Intermediate first year students will be promoted without exams. “Exams will be held whenever possible at a future date”.
The decision came a day after the central education board, CBSE, announced cancellation of Class 10 exams and postponement of Class 12 final exams.
For Class 10 students, details of the objective criteria will be announced later and students who remain unsatisfied with their results will be given another chance to clear the exam, when the COVID-19 situation improves, an official statement said.
Intermediate final year students with backlogs will get minimum passing marks for those subjects.
Twenty five per cent weightage for Telangana’s entrance exam, TS EAMCET, will not be considered this year.

As Coronavirus cases are on the rise all across the country, the clamour for cancelling CBSE exams is also increasing. Parents, students and politicians, among others are requesting the Centre to postpone the CBSE classes 10 and 12 Board exams scheduled to begin in May. However, several states including Delhi, Maharashtra, Punjab, Chhattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh have already postponed or rescheduled the state board exams.

Amid the growing clamour for the cancellation of CBSE exams because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the exams for Class 10 have been cancelled, while CBSE Class 12 Board Exams 2021 have been postponed. The decision was taken during a meeting of Prime Minister Narendra Modi with Union Education Minister Ramesh Pakhriyal Nishank and other senior officials. The Board Exams for Class XIIth to be held from May 4th to June, 14th, 2021 are hereby postponed.The Board Exams for Class Xth to be held from 4th May to June 14th, 2021 are hereby cancelled, the government said in a press release on Wednesday. Results of Class 10th will be prepared on the basis of an objective criterion to be devel
