Voters in the tight-knit community of Elm Grove will head to the polls April 6, to elect three village trustees.
Six candidates, including two incumbents, are vying for the three open seats. Trustee Kim Irwin is not seeking re-election.
The winners will each serve two-year terms on the village board.
Elm Grove has seen from 13% to 58% voter turnout in the spring election in recent years. This year, voters will also cast ballots for village president, which may encourage stronger turnout. Village President Neil Palmer faces challenger Mary Inden.
Many village trustee candidates touted Elm Grove s strong sense of community and shared thoughts on how to keep the village a great place to live. A 2020 list said Elm Grove was the best place to live in the state.

This past year as the coronavirus cut through the United States, elderly women religious former teachers, nurses, social workers and pastoral care leaders were among those whose lives were cut short by Covid-19, the disease caused by the virus.
In some cases, these women, living in convents and cared for by their fellow sisters, died in clusters, leaving their communities with a magnified loss.
