River Road ISD board approves House Bill Three academic goals

During a recent meeting of the River Road Independent School District Board of Trustees, district officials continued to look forward, officially putting academic goals in place to help the district grow in a few specific areas in three to five years.  These goals grew out of House Bill Three, a school finance bill passed by the Texas Legislature in 2019. According to the Texas Education Agency’s website, the bill provides more money for classrooms, increases teacher pay and cuts property taxes for Texas residents.  River Road Superintendent Richard Kelley said the bill also provides the opportunity for school boards to be more involved in the creation of academic goals.
