Kineton School set for £20million rebuild

Published: 16:17, 11 March 2021 Kineton High School is to be completely rebuilt following the award of an incredible £20million in Government funding. Kineton High School (picture from Google) (45062903) The money, which will come from the Government’s School Rebuilding Programme, will see the school site transformed when work begins in the autumn. Kineton is not the only school to benefit, both Southam College and Hartshill School will each receive significant funding, with Warwickshire County Council confirming a figure of £60million will be shared between the three. Altogether 50 schools across the country will benefit from the School Rebuilding Programme. Warwickshire County Council say they and hope the project will create jobs and training opportunities for apprentices.

Fred Longworth High benefits from School Rebuilding Programme

The Department for Education has announced 50 schools who will benefit from the School Rebuilding Programme. The department has prioritised schools for the first 50 projects based on the condition of their buildings. Schools have been prioritised that are known to have Laingspan or Intergrid buildings, which are in the poorest condition as identified in data collected by the department. Fred Longworth High School in Tyldesley is among the 50 projects to have been selected, A statement from the school said: This is fantastic news for the school and will enable us to provide the modern, state of the art facilities that our students and staff deserve.
