ut, if you’re not going to talk about the crisis in manhood, the fatherhood crisis, the lack of fathers in the home, the cultural breakdown, the cultural rot, the societal rot we’re undergoing right now as fatherless children grow up in areas with no schools, no economy, no future, no hospitals, and no nothing, then I’m dismissing you as a serious person. – Dan Bongino
[dropcap]Dan[/dropcap] did a fantastic video about the manhood crisis we have in America and it hit home because contrary to what so many people seem to believe, we live in an overly feminized culture filled with “men” that haven’t grown up yet. We treat boys that turn 18 like they’re men, but the truth is a lot of them don’t meet that standard in any way that matters. We live in a prosperous nation and a lot of us have been coddled our whole lives. There are many college-age guys that have never done anything of significance because mommy and daddy have always done it for them, so they’ve neve
Democrats have been pushing the idea of making DC into a state for decades. They give all kinds of reasons for that, but it really comes down to the fact that it would add two new Senate seats that would forevermore be filled by Democrats. Of course, since Democrats want to make DC a state for purely partisan reasons, it makes perfect sense that Republicans should oppose it for purely partisan reasons. If you live in a Republican state, why would you want to see the value of your state’s Senate seats diluted that way? However, getting beyond that, some people might be looking for a better reason than that or wondering why DC isn’t already a state. Well, there is an answer.
Most people think the phrase “get woke, go broke” is all about prominently liberal companies turning off their more conservative customers. Of course, that does happen. Remember when Gillette decided to give a snobby lecture to its customers about bullying and toxic masculinity?
That got a lot of attention. What didn’t get as much attention is the company’s share of the razor market dropped to its lowest level since 2005 afterward. A lot of people, myself included, were insulted enough by the ad that they stopped buying Gillette Razors. That added up to 350 million dollars worth of sales vaporized.
Because conservatives love the free market, don’t hate the rich, and generally understand that having successful corporations is a good thing for the country, we’re cheap dates for businesses. These corporations know that when it comes time to cut taxes, cut regulations, kneecap unions, or generally make life easier for them, conservatives are going to be there for them. The problem is that this isn’t a mutually beneficial relationship. The corporations are happy to use conservatives when it’s convenient for them, but meanwhile, they’re wining and dining the Left on a regular basis.
This is not how it should work.
If anything ail a man, so that he does not perform his functions, if he have a pain in his bowels even … he forthwith sets about reforming the world. Henry David Thoreau
There are many who find a good alibi far more attractive than an achievement. For an achievement does not settle anything permanently. We still have to prove our worth anew each day: we have to prove that we are as good today as we were yesterday. But when we have a valid alibi for not achieving anything we are fixed, so to speak, for life. Moreover, when we have an alibi for not writing a book, painting a picture, and so on, we have an alibi for not writing the greatest book and not painting the greatest picture. Small wonder that the effort expended and the punishment endured in obtaining a good alibi often exceed the effort and grief requisite for the attainment of a most marked achievement. Eric Hoffer
