In session Monday morning, Brown County Commissioners voted to keep the Burn Ban in place. It was pointed out that the recent snow left little in the way of moisture necessitating the ban on outdoor burning stay in place. Also Monday morning, Brown County Commissioners received an update on the current status of COVID-19. Lisa Dick, administrator of the Brownwood/Brown County Health Department, told commissioners the number of positive COVID cases last week in Brown County was 50, which was down from 151 the previous week. There was also limited testing due to the extreme weather and clinics being closed. There is now 5,500 people on the health department waiting list to receive the COVID vaccine. When Brown County Commissioners meet Monday morning, February 22, one of the items on the agenda is a Declaration of Disaster. County Judge, Dr. Paul Lilly, will present the Disaster Declaration for action for the State of Emergency which began on February 14 for Brown County.
In other business, County Commissioner’s will receive an update on COVID-19 from the Brownwood/Brown County Health Department, discuss the status of the Burn Ban and consider possible approval of a final plat for Reflection Ridge at Feather Bay.
The meeting begins at 9:00 am Monday, February 22, on the first floor of the Brown County Courthouse.
