Bangs American Legion Lynn Snow Post 308 recently presented $3,000 in donations to area entities. Those given $500 were Good Samaritan Ministries, The Ark Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Shelter and CASA in the Heart of Texas. $250 donations went to Bangs Volunteer Fire Department, Bangs Cemetery Association, Bangs Food Pantry, Bangs Lions Club, Santa Anna Volunteer Fire Department and the Brown County Child Welfare Board. Brown County Judge, Dr. Paul Lilly, has declared the month of April as Child Abuse Prevention and Awareness Month. He read the proclamation during Commissioner’s Court on Monday morning, April 5, then presented the framed proclamation to members of the Brown County Child Welfare Board and members of CASA, Court Appointed Special Advocates. In addition, Commissioners approved a request by the Child Welfare Board to place pinwheels in front of the Courthouse for Child Abuse Prevention and Awareness Month.
