To counter Covid, Vietnam asks companies to vaccinate employees

HANOI, Vietnam: Vietnam has asked Samsung Electronics, as well as other foreign companies, to assist in purchasing vaccines to combat the coronavirus disease for their workforces, amid a viral spike encumbering the country, according to a government website. The government is encouraging companies to find Covid-19 vaccines for their workers, said Bui Hoang Mai, heading the management board of the industrial park in Bac Ninh, the location of Samsung s smartphone-manufacturing facilities.
The government website highlighted Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh s request to local authorities to obtain vaccination supplies, while offering details of the visit paid by the head of government to a Bac Ninh-based facility of Samsung.
