PETALING JAYA: The National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme has kicked off in earnest, with Selangor being the first state to vaccinate its medical frontliners.
After the launch in Putrajaya the day before when Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin and Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah were the first two in the country to be injected with the first of the two-dose Pfizer-BioNTech Covid-19 vaccine, the exercise took off in Selangor yesterday.
Dr Noriah Ismail of the Selangor Crisis Preparedness and Response Centre said that 42 people, mostly medical frontliners, were among the first batch in the state to receive their vaccination at Shah Alam Hospital.
PETALING JAYA: With the deferred 2020 public examinations now under way, the Health Ministry has reminded all those involved to comply with the guidelines in place. We would also like to advise all parties involved including examination staff, administrators, parents and guardians to always comply with the Central Assessment Management and Public Examination Guidelines in the new norms that have been set, Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said in a statement on Friday (Feb 26). Examination candidates must ensure that they are healthy and free of symptoms such as fever, cough, flu, sore throat, and shortness of breath while at any examination centre.

KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 26 Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said only four in a million may get side effects after getting vaccinated for Covid-19.
He said the Ministry of Health is prepared to handle the if such a situation happens during and after giving vaccination to any individuals.

LUMPUR: Those who fail to attend the appointment to take the Covid-19 vaccination without reasonable grounds can be prosecuted, said Health director-general (DG) Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah (

He said this was to avoid wastage as the diluted Covid-19 Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine could not be stored for use on other days due to its shelf life of not more than six hours.
“Even on the day of surgery, 15 per cent of cases are not present for the surgery. Absence, including for the scheduled vaccination is a ‘waste of resources and manpower’ because we have done all preparations.
