GEORGE TOWN, Feb 21 Penang will continue its Covid-19 mass screening initiative involving the manufacturing and production sectors, said Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow.
“In the special session of the National Security Council (MKN) on Covid-19 management, chaired by the Prime Minister via a video conference on Friday, I have requested further feedback to enable the Federation of Malaysian Manufacturers (FMM) Penang branch to implement mass screening initiatives involving manufacturing sector in the state.

SEPANG, Feb 21 Registration for the Covid-19 vaccination, to commence on March 1, will remain open until it reaches the target of 80 per cent of the population have received the vaccine, said Coordinating Minister for the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme Khairy Jamaluddin.
“Registration will remain open until we reach our target of 70 to 80 percent of Malaysians (to receive the vaccine),” said Khairy, who is also the Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation.
KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 21: The Pfizer-BioNtech vaccine is the first COVID-19 vaccine given conditional registration approval by the Drug Control Authority .

PUTRAJAYA, Feb 21: A total of 571,802 frontliners have registered to receive the COVID-19 vaccination as of yesterday, says Coordinating Minister for National COVID-19 Immunisation Programme Khairy Jamaluddin.
He said of the total, 57.3 per cent were medical and health personnel, with 39.8 per cent being from the Ministry of Health (MOH) and the remaining 17.5 per cent comprising other medical and health personnel, including from the Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM).
According to Khairy, the other 42.7 per cent were non-health personnel including members of the ATM, Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department, Royal Malaysian Police, People’s Volunteer Corps (RELA), Malaysian Prisons Department, Royal Malaysian Customs Department, Social Welfare Department.
