Covid: 1,683 new cases, three deaths reported Sunday, says Health DG

KUALA LUMPUR (March 7): The number of daily Covid-19 positive cases in the country remained below 2,000 for the second straight day, with 1,683 cases reported today, said Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah. A total of 2,506 recoveries were also recorded, while there were three fatalities due to the pandemic, taking the death toll to 1,169. He said the latest developments took the cumulative case count to 313,460, total recoveries to 291,958, and active cases to 20,333. The new cases today involved 1,673 local transmissions and 10 imported cases. A total of 174 cases are being treated in the intensive care units, with 81 patients requiring ventilator support,” he tweeted.

MySejahtera: Almost 3 mil people registered for Covid-19 vaccination

KUALA LUMPUR (March 7): A total of 2,990,577 individuals have registered themselves in the MySejahtera application to receive the Covid-19 vaccine as of 8am today. Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdulllah through an infographic, shared on his official Twitter account said that since the registration for the Covid-19 vaccination under the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme opened on Feb 24, Selangor recorded the highest number of registered individuals at 991,181.

Covid-19: Eight new clusters identified, five linked to workplaces

He said two clusters were linked to detention centres and one is a community-related cluster. The eight new clusters are Kemuning Enam and Jalan Sungai in Selangor, Industri Inanam in Sabah, Jalan Industri Tiga Pontian, Tapak Bina Jalan Satu in Kuala Lumpur, Jalan Awang and Kiba in Sarawak, and Persiaran Wawasan Immigration depot in Perlis. The total number of clusters now stand at 1,199, out of which 472 are active clusters. The Kemuning Enam workplace cluster involves workers of a factory in Jalan Bukit Kemuning in Batu 6, Shah Alam. A total of 123 individuals were screened, and 44 tested positive. The Jalan Awang cluster, which is a detention centre in Sibu, Sarawak, saw 42 out of the 43 individuals testing positive for Covid-19.
