2020 Mumbai power outage caused by human error, not cyber attack: Union power minister

New Delhi: Union power minister RK Singh on Tuesday said that there is no evidence to prove that the Mumbai blackout was caused by a cyberattack. While a cyberattack was attempted but it had nothing to do with the October 2020 electricity blackout in Mumbai, said the minister.
The minister attributed the Mumbai blackout to a case of human error. We don t have evidence to say that the cyberattacks were carried out by China or Pakistan. Some people say that the group behind the attacks is Chinese but we don t have evidence. China will definitely deny it, said Singh.
