College Visit Day at SRC

CANTON Spoon River College faculty and staff talked with visitors at the College Visit Day event held March 2 on the Canton Campus. The event featured the career and workforce education programs offered at the College, including Ag Business Management, Commercial Driver Training, Diesel and Power Systems Technology, and Welding.
A second College Visit Days event is scheduled for March 15-18 9 to 11 a.m. each day at both the Canton and Macomb campuses that will feature career programs as well as transfer education. Those interested should RSVP at src.edu/collegevisit with the day of their choice. Masks are required at Spoon River College for all students, staff, and visitors.

BALTIMORE COUNTY, MD The four-year adjusted cohort graduation rate for Baltimore County Public Schools has improved from 87.6 percent for the class of 2019 to 88.5 percent for the class of 2020, according to data released by the Maryland State Department of Education. The statewide graduation rate decreased from 86.86 percent in 2019 to 86.75 percent in 2020.
The BCPS four-year cohort dropout rate decreased from 8.8 percent in 2019 to 8.3 percent in 2020. At the state level, dropout rates decreased from 8.42 percent in 2019 to 8.25 percent in 2020. I celebrate every one of our schools – from the earliest grades up through high school – for their dedicated efforts to increase our graduation rate. College Visit Day March 2 at SRC

CANTON Spoon River College is hosting a College Visit Day Tuesday, March 2, 9 a.m. to noon in the Votech Building on the Canton Campus.
“We are excited to showcase some of our training programs which lead to high-skill, high-wages, and in-demand occupations,” said Brad O’Brien, dean of career and workforce education. “We expect these occupations to be among the drivers of an economic recovery.”
The College’s programs in Ag Business, Commercial Driver Training, Diesel and Power Systems Technology, and Welding will be featured. Information about applying for college, tuition, financial aid, and student life will be presented.
