fjohnson@tribunemedia.net A 30-year-old man who last week punched and choked his friend’s mother was yesterday fined $600. Jerome Joseph was arrested after he assaulted a woman in her home on December 7. He pleaded guilty to one count each of threats of harm and assault during his arraignment before Assistant Chief Magistrate Subusola Swain yesterday. The court was told on the day in question, the complainant was at her home when the accused came over. The prosecution said when the woman asked Joseph to leave, he refused to do so and then threatened to punch and kick her. The court heard the defendant then choked the woman and pushed her against a wall. As a result of her complaint, Joseph was arrested.
