Bahrain Kuwait Insurance Company (gig Bahrain) and Takaful International announced launching their first Graduate Development Programme on Sunday. The programme designed in strategic partnership with the Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance will provide fresh graduates with the technical knowledge and competencies to start their career in Insurance.
The talent management programme aims at providing a unique career opportunity to fresh graduates seeking a professional career in Insurance. The programme will run for 9-12 months and aims at delivering a high-end on-the-job learning exposure both in Bahrain and abroad.
It is complemented by professional qualifications in Insurance and Digital Transformation, such as the Award for Certified Insurance Practitioner (ACIP) and the Digital Transformation Essentials for All.

Helped by significant improvement in underwriting and net investment income, Bahrain Kuwait Insurance Company reported a profit, which rose 11.2% in the first quarter of the current year. Net profit attributable to the shareholders was BD 0.950 million compared to BD 0.854 m for the same period last year, representing an increase of 11.2%.
Earnings per share remained at 6 fils during the first quarter of the current year and in the same period, last year taking into consideration the recent increase in capital said BKIC.
The total comprehensive income attributable to the shareholders reached BD 1.04 m in Q1-2021 compared to a comprehensive loss BD 0.987 m in Q1-2020. The company achieved 17.2% growth in gross premium revenue from BD 21.02 m to BD 24.63 m in the 1st quarter of the current year.

The Bahrain Institute of Banking & Finance (BIBF) announced a partnership with Bahrain Kuwait Insurance Company (gig-Bahrain), as it joins the corporate sponsorship project within the BIBF new iconic building at Bahrain Bay.
The agreement will see a study hall named after gig-Bahrain at BIBF’s new state-of-the-art building, with an expected inauguration later this year. The study hall will serve the training needs of the financial sector in Bahrain and beyond.
gig-Bahrain is a subsidiary of Gulf Insurance Group (GIG), which is the largest insurance Group in Kuwait.
“This partnership will increase brand awareness and reinforce the positioning of gig-Bahrain as a partner of the BIBF.”
