Police are appealing for witnesses after a black Vauxhall Crossland X and a blue hatchback collided on Seaton Road, Arbroath. Nobody was injured in the crash on Friday, March 12 at about 8.50pm. The collision is said to have occurred when the small blue car pulled out of the Flairs Avenue junction. However the driver of the vehicle did not stop and continued north on Seaton Road. A Tayside Police Division statement reads: “We would like to hear from anyone who may have witnessed this incident, or anyone who was in the area around that time and may have dashcam footage.

This is up from £9.725m the year before.

St Andrews University hit by sudden and significant coronavirus outbreak

Eleven students living in four halls of residence and private accommodation in the town have tested positive for the virus, while more than 40 others are understood to be self-isolating. In an email sent to all students, University Principle and Vice- Chancellor Sally Mapstone described the development as “extremely concerning”, adding that it was “very likely” that the outbreak is linked to the new UK strain of the virus. She also warned that more positive cases could be confirmed in the coming days.

Police in Dundee investigating attempted dog thefts

On Saturday, at around 3pm on Stannergate, a 14-year-old boy was approached by three men, one of whom attempted to take his dog’s lead from him. One of the men is described as white, in his mid 20s, 6ft 1in in height and of heavy build. He was wearing all black and spoke with an Irish accent. The second man is described as white, in his early 20s, 5ft 9in in height and of slim build. He was wearing a navy jacket and grey jogging bottoms.
