SANTIAGO, Dec. 15 (Xinhua) The Institute of International Studies at the University of Chile on Tuesday launched the book Relations Between Chile and China: A comprehensive approach in celebration of 50th anniversary of Chile-China diplomatic ties.
The book takes a close look at the bonds between the two countries and the prospects for their political, economic and cultural ties, which contains the views of a dozen Chilean and Chinese scholars.
The launch took place during the Chile-China Week, which was held to celebrate the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations with a series of events organized by Chile s Pontifical Catholic University and China s Tsinghua University.

16:58 | Lima, Dec. 13. Researchers from Pontifical Catholic University of Peru (PUCP) have designed and manufactured a 5 kg/h vicuña fiber washing machine to remove impurities, as well as avoid vicuña fiber entanglement and breakage.
The innovative mini washer was created by a team led by Eliseo Barriga, who affirms that the project consists of immersing vicuña fiber in an aqueous solution of hot water and detergents.
The impurities in the fiber like grease, dust, dirt, among others will be removed with gentle movements by means of mechanical systems and the application of ultrasound to avoid it (the fiber) from getting curled and tangled until it is damaged or broken when washing it manually.

The conferences were jointly organized by China s Tsinghua University, Chile s Pontifical Catholic University (PUC), and the University of Chile. I am very honored that Tsinghua University and its partners in Chile are co-hosts of this Chile-China Week , Tsinghua University Vice President Yang Bin said at a ceremony kicking off the series. Since 1970, Chile and China have enjoyed 50 years of diplomatic relations, which is nothing less than a brotherhood, said Yang.

San Juan, Dec 15 (efe-epa).- Just nine months since the onset of the coronavirus crisis in Puerto Rico, the United States commonwealth on Tuesday became one of the first territories worldwide to launch a Covid-19 vaccination rollout.
San Juan’s Ashford Presbyterian Community Hospital was the first medical facility on the Caribbean island to start inoculating health professionals, followed by Hospital Damas and Hospital Episcopal San Lucas in Ponce and the Doctors Center Hospital in Carolina, among others.
The campaign is to be extended to all of Puerto Rico’s 65 hospitals over the next few hours.
