Catholic leaders in Michigan are raising concerns about the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, saying it is tied to an aborted fetus.  But they added that if no other alternatives are available, it is permissible for Catholics take the Johnson & Johnson vaccine.  In a statement last week, Michigan s seven Catholic bishops, including Archbishop Allen Vigneron of the Archdiocese of Detroit, said that the Johnson & Johnson and AstraZeneca are more morally problematic than the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines.  The March 3 statement from the Michigan bishops appeared to be more critical of the Johnson & Johnson vaccines than the March 2 statement put out of the national group of Catholic bishops, United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB).
