Pak Opposition leader opposes establishment of national parks in occupied Gilgit Baltistan: Report ANI | Updated: Jan 29, 2021 13:02 IST Gilgit Baltistan [PoK], January 29 (ANI): Pakistan s Opposition leader has opposed Prime Minister Imran Khan government s plan to establish two national parks in occupied Gilgit Baltistan, saying locals will lose their livelihood because of these parks as they will not be allowed to either construct houses or carry out any cultivation in the area. Opposition Leader in the Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly, Amjad Hussain Advocate, is planning to raise the issue during the upcoming Assembly session, Dawn reported. He also accused the government of planning to carry out haphazard constructions in the regions with the help of outside investors .

K D Sethi, last surviving member of J&K Constituent Assembly, dies at 93

Born in Mirpur, now in Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir, he represented the Nowshera Assembly segment Srinagar: Krishan Dev Sethi, 93, who was the last surviving member of the Jammu & Kashmir Constituent Assembly, passed away on Thursday at his Jammu residence. According to the family, he passed away around 4 a.m. at his ancestral home at Dalpatian Mohallah, Jammu. Mr. Sethi, who was keeping unwell for the last one year, is survived by four sons and two daughters. Born in Mirpur, now in Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir, Mr. Sethi was an elected member of the first Constituent Assembly of Jammu and Kashmir formulated in 1951 and finalised the separate constitution of J&K. He represented the Nowshera Assembly segment.

Last surviving member of J&K Constituent Assembly dies at 93 | India News

JAMMU: Krishan Dev Sethi, 93, the last surviving member of the Jammu and Kashmir Constituent Assembly, passed away at his residence on Thursday. The Constituent Assembly, which comprised of a body of representatives elected in 1951 (later dissolved in 1953), had framed the constitution of the erstwhile state of J&K. Born in Mirpur, now in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir, on January 1, 1928, Sethi was a popular leader. He migrated to Jammu in 1946 and later also represented the Nowshera assembly segment of Rajouri district. J&K lieutenant governor Manoj Sinha expressed grief over the demise of Sethi. “Saddened by the passing away of Krishan Dev Sethi, ex-MLA #Nowshera and father of J&K law secretary Achal Sethi. He was also the last surviving member of J&K Constituent Assembly,” Sinha said in a tweet.
