Indian Army on Friday oversaw the repatriation of a boy who had inadvertently crossed over from Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).
Pakistan also sent back an Indian national, who had inadvertently crossed over to PoK in the Poonch sector.
The Army said in a press release that 14-year-old Ali Haider, from Mirpur district in PoK, had inadvertently crossed over to India in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir.

Officials said that the boy was taken good care of by the Indian Army. (Photo: India Today) A 14-year-old boy from Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) inadvertently crossed the Line of Control (LoC) on December 31. He was handed over to the Pakistan Army by the Indian Army on Friday.
The boy has been identified as Ali Haider, son of Mohd Sharief and resident of Mirpur which lies in PoK. On interrogation, the boy revealed that he is from PoK and wanted to go back to his family. He was taken good care of and repatriated today, a source said.
JAMMU: Two teenage boys, one each from J&K’s Poonch district and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), who had inadvertently crossed over to the other side of the Line of Control (LoC), swapped sides on Friday in the presence of officials from both sides.
Sharing details of the repatriation, Udhampur-based defence spokesperson Lt Col Abhinav Navneet said, “Ali Haider (14) son of Mohd Sharief, a resident of Mirpur in Pak-occupied Kashmir (PoK), had inadvertently crossed the LoC on December 31, while an Indian boy named Shabir (15), son of Mohammed Bashir of Mohalla Kaieyan Gunntreyian, Mendhar, had also inadvertently crossed over to the other side from the Poonch sector on December 24.”

Muzaffarabad [PoK], January 7 (ANI): Police resorted to lathi-charge and firing tear gas after teachers in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir s capital Muzaffarabad on Wednesday staged a protest, demanding the authorities to upgrade their job ranks.
Hordes of teachers, who were reportedly headed towards a secretariat building, were interrupted by the capital s police, reported Geo News.
The police fired tear gas and resorted to lathi charge to disperse the protesting teachers, which led to several of them being injured.
20 protesters were arrested by the police.
As the protesters reacted to the police s interruption by pelting stones at the law enforcement agency, three personnel were left wounded, reported Geo News.
