China, Turkey start making ships for Pak Navy

ISLAMABAD: China has started manufacturing of third Tpye-054A Class Frigate for the Pakistan Navy while Turkey has also begun to manufacture second MILGEM Class Corvette Keel.
The ships launching ceremonies were held at Hudong Zhonghua (HZ) Shipyard Shanghai, China, and Istanbul Naval Shipyard (INSY), Turkey. Both the ceremonies were graced by the respective countries’ Chief Naval Overseers, the spokesman of the Pakistan Navy said on Saturday. Type 054 A/P Class Frigate will be most technologically advanced surface platform of Pakistan Navy Fleet, fitted with state-of-the-art surface, subsurface and anti-air weapons, combat management system and sensors. LAHORE: In what could be branded as an impressive firepower display over the waves of the North Arabian Sea on January 12 this year, the Pakistan Navy Fleet comprising its submarines, had also successfully engaged its intended targets with anti-ship missiles and torpedoes.
And then recently, the naval warfare branch of the Pakistan Armed Forces, kicked off a five-day multinational exercise in the Arabian Sea, with 45 nations participating in the event that has surely caught the eyes of all the international military powers to reckon with.
Renowned American news agency, the “Associated Press” writes: “Pakistan has been hosting the exercise since 2007 but has never invited neighboring India, and bitter relations remain after three wars fought between the two since independence from British rule in 1947. Naval collaboration between China and Pakistan is strengthening with a series of arms procurements, as Pakistan is acquiring Chinese-made frigates that will be one of the most technologically advanced platforms of the Pakistan Navy and submarines that would substantially add to the offensive capability of the Pakistan Navy, Admiral M Amjad Khan Niazi, Chief of the Naval Staff of the Pakistan Navy, told the Global Times in a recent exclusive interview.

HMS Active, a Royal Navy frigate which survived active duty in the Falklands War, has met its end during a Pakistan navy drill.
The Type 21 frigate - decommissioned by the Royal Navy in 1994 and sold to Pakistan which renamed her the PNS Shah Jahan - was blown up in a training exercise on January 12.

KARACHI, Pakistan: In an impressive fire power display, the Pakistan Navy demonstrated the combat readiness and war fighting capabilities through Live Weapon Firing at the North Arabian Sea on Tueday.
The Anti-Ship Missiles & Torpedoes launched from the Pakistan Navy Submarines successfully engaged intended targets.
