Journalists across Pakistan on Tuesday observed a day of mourning against Israel s bombing of a media center in Gaza during its 11-day assault on the blockaded coastal enclave.
The day was observed on the call of the Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists, a nationwide body of media workers, the Karachi Press Club and the Karachi Union of Journalists (KUJ).
Journalists wore black armbands stating Free Palestine , while performing their duties.
The Palestinian flag was also hoisted on the Karachi Press Club building, a historic landmark in the coastal city which is a hotspot for protests, to express solidarity with Palestinian and foreign journalists who were injured, tortured and harassed by the Israeli forces.

Police team set up to probe attack on journalist

ISLAMABAD: The capital police have constituted a team to investigate the attack on journalist Asad Ali Toor.
The team will be headed by SP Saddar with DSPs Special Branch and Ramna Circle as well as Shalimar SHO its members.
According to the police, the team will work under the supervision of SSP investigation. It will use all scientific and forensic methods including CCTV footages and Safe City cameras to trace the culprits involved in the incident.
Earlier, the capital police registered a case over a manhandling of journalist by three persons. The case was registered at Shalimar police station under PPC 452 and 506ii in response to a complaint Asad Ali Toor.
