Issues related to print, electronic media: NA body seeks recommendations | Pakistan Press Foundation (PPF)

ISLAMABAD: A sub-committee of the National Assembly’s Standing Committee on Information and Broadcasting on Thursday sought recommendations from the Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ), Rawalpindi Islamabad Union of Journalists (RIUJ), All Pakistan Newspaper Society (APNS) and Pakistan Broadcasters Association (PBA) with respect to removal of employees from print and electronic media and non-payment of salaries to employees. The committee which was held under the chairmanship of MNA Naz Baloch, sought recommendations within a week. The committee will take a legal course of action in the light of the suggestions. The committee expressed its displeasure over the absence of the MD PTV.

National April 8, 2021 ISLAMABAD: The federal government on Wednesday initiated a dialogue with the Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ) on the 19-point charter of demand presented to it earlier by the Union, says a press release. The move to hold talks with PFUJ was apparently taken on the direction of Senator Shibli Faraz. The first preliminary round of talks held on zoom was chaired by Information Secretary Ms Shaheera Shahid. PFUJ side was led by its Secretary General Nasir Zaidi. He was assisted by three Federal Executive Council (FEC) members Mr Afzal Butt, Mr Nasir Malick and Mr Mubarak Zeb.
