Pakistan weighs in on farmers protest in India
FO voices concerns over rapidly shrinking space for dissent in neighbouring country

As farmers’ protest in India made international headlines after many celebrities, including an American singer showed solidarity with the campaign, Pakistan on Thursday voiced concerns over “increasing intolerance and rapidly shrinking space for any dissent” in the neighbouring country.
“The treatment of minorities, increasing intolerance, and rapidly shrinking space for any dissent in India is a matter of serious concern not only for the Indian minorities and the neighbouring countries but also for the international community,” said the Foreign Office spokesperson here at the weekly news briefing.

Doha: The Amir HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani patronized the graduation ceremony of the 16th batch of graduates of Ahmed Bin Mohammed Military College at its headquarters on Thursday morning.
The graduation ceremony was attended by Prime Minister and Minister of Interior HE Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al-Thani, a number of Ministers, Chief of Staff of the Army of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan General Qamar Javed Bajwa, Operations and Training Assistant in the State of Kuwait Major General Faleh Shuja Al-Otaibi, the Commander of the Military Academy of Cherchell in the People s Democratic Republic of Algeria Major General Salmi Pasha, the Commander of the Royal Military Academy in the Kingdom of Morocco Major General Hassan Al-Taeik, Commandant of Rwanda Military Academy in the Republic of Rwanda Major General Innocent Kabandana, Vice President of Mutah University
His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani graced the graduation ceremony of the 16th batch of graduates of Ahmed Bin Mohammed Military College at its headquarters earlier today.
Several other dignitaries and top-ranking officials from Qatar as well as other friendly countries were present on the occasion.
These included: HE Qatar’s Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al Thani; Chief of Staff of the Army of Pakistan General Qamar Javed Bajwa; Operations and Training Assistant in Kuwait Major General Faleh Shuja Al-Otaibi; the Commander of the Military Academy of Cherchell in Algeria Major General Salmi Pasha; and the Commander of the Royal Military Academy in the Kingdom of Morocco Major General Hassan Al-Taeik, among others.
