APTMA hails gas, RLNG supply

APTMA hails gas, RLNG supply Business January 6, 2021 LAHORE: All Pakistan Textile Mills Association (APTMA) Punjab Chairman Abdul Rahim Nasir has appreciated the sustained supply of gas/RLNG that helped maintain the momentum of enhanced exports and enabled the textile industry to work at full capacity, a statemengt said on Tuesday. Export orders for the next six months are booked and despite Covid-19 pandemic, the overall exports of Pakistan have registered a growth of more than 18 percent in December 2020, compared with the corresponding period of the last year, he said. There have been isolated cases of low pressure of gas and supply problems on mixed feeders and APTMA has taken up these issues with the Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) management who have assured us of all-possible assistance to remove any bottlenecks.

Despite pandemic, textile sector bounces back | The Express Tribune

Despite pandemic, textile sector bounces back Stakeholders still worried about country’s thin share in global textile exports LAHORE: Pakistan’s textile sector has helped the country pass through a difficult phase, especially during 2020, which is still a threat to the entire world. Covid-19 was the biggest challenge for the outgoing 2020, which disrupted global economies and their supply chains. Pakistan too felt the heat of the deadly virus, starting late February, but surprisingly within a couple of months, the country’s textile industry was back on track. Textile sector is called the backbone of Pakistan’s economy as it enjoys around 60% share in total exports. Its contribution to the national gross domestic product (GDP) is 8.5% and it employs around 15 million people, directly and indirectly.

Three advantages of Pakistan s textile exports--China Economic Net

Data released by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) on December 18 shows that Pakistan’s textile and clothing exports grew by 4.88 per cent year-on-year to $ 6.04 billion between July to November this financial year compared to $ 5.76 billion in the same period last financial year. This means that Pakistan s textile production and exports have largely recovered from the COVID-19 pandemic shock and are back on growth trajectory both in terms of the quantity and dollar value.   The Pakistani government has recently announced a lucrative energy package to help textile industry recuperate from the COVID-19 shock. The package does away with peak electricity rates, offers reduced tariffs on additional power consumption, and fixes power price at $ 0.07 a unit and gas tariff at $ 0.065 per MMBtu.

APTMA demands FBR to stop harassment

APTMA demands FBR to stop harassment   Published On APTMA demands FBR to stop harassment LAHORE (Dunya News) -  Chairman All Pakistan Textile Mills Association (APTMA) Mr Adil Bashir has urged the Federal government to stop FBR from harassment of taxpayers and withdraw all FIRs lodged against leading genuine and bonafide manufacturers and exporters. In a statement issued on Saturday, he lamented that Prime Minister of Pakistan was all out to support the export-oriented sectors of Pakistan but some vested interests are bent upon frustrating the intents of the Government by harassing exporters and hindering the unprecedented growth in exports. According to him, exports from Pakistan have registered an impressive uplift over the last few months due to unflinching support by the prime minister but the pace of potential upsurge in exports may be retarted by unfriendly attitude of certain government functionaries.
